One of my all-time favorite cars period. The 1987 Buick GNX. Modifications by McLaren Performance Technologies/ASC include a 6-cylinder turbo with larger inter-cooler and heat shrouding, and a GNX-only torque-arm which would cause the rear-end to lift under heavy acceleration. This car took on (and still holds) a myth-like status with me, with Buick at the time claiming it as the fastest accelerating production car. Horsepower was claimed at 276, but was actually well over 300. Kenny Bernstein, for some car magazine, took a GNX and a Corvette ZR-1 out for a drag and the GNX came out on top. This GNX that was at Barrett-Jackson was owned by famed car-collector Reggie Jackson and was bought to replace one he lost in a fire that destroyed a large part of his collection. With just over 5000 miles on the odo, the car sold for $66,000. Only 500 of these were made, so if you see one, it's like seeing the black Pegasus in the Clash of the Titans remake and probably harder to get to ride (drive) one. This was number 12 of the lot. The GNX #001 is the 1986 prototype and is owned by Buick and makes appearances at car shows, according to good ol' wikipedia. Caps are from Speed's Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction in January 2011 and the last three are from good ol' google.

Pursuit Special: Mad Mel…err…Max…yeah…Mad Max. (I need a woman too).
Fuel shortages + rampaging biker gangs=Apocalypse. Simple as that.
Along with a fantastic opening police chase sequence, 1979’s Mad Max features a nice black ride. The Pursuit Special:
Max’s GT351 limited version of a 1973 Ford XB Falcon Hardtop. The car was modified by Murray Smith, Peter Arcadipane and Ray Beckerley. Murray Smith bought the car back before filming of the sequel, The Road Warrior began, and after being left in a wrecking yard, the car was bought and restored and resides at Cars of the Stars Motor Museum in Cumbria, England.

And the final scene, which, interestingly, inspired the SAW movie series:

Star Cars: Celeb-sleds
A June 2010 epidsode of Hot Rod TV on Speed featured 'lead-sleds', post-war late 40's early 50's rods that had more emphasis on style than performance, being chopped and slammed and just cruised. Lead was used for body filler-that's where the term lead-sled comes from. But don't mistake all of these for just being low and slow-some have some pretty good go.
Johnny Depp's 1951 Mercury, a car he's had since his early 20's, had an overhaul done on it by BS Industries. Mike Lavallee did some air-brushing on it.
Lost star Mathew Fox owns this award-winning Mercury, simple and spectacular.
Here are a couple of others featured on the show:

Race Car: DTM Audi A4
Timo Scheider, 2-time DTM champion, drove this black Audi A4 in 2010 and finished the championship in 4th. At the end of December and beginning of January every year, Speed channel shows the DTM championship (usually a race a week). Touring car racing is close and exciting and I'm a big fan of it, especially DTM. I wish they would show it during the year, but I don't know if they aren't able to or if they choose to show more pointless programming than actual racing. Here are the specs on the Audi A4 from Timo's website:

Thrown in for good 'measure' (haha), are a few pics of Markus Winkelhock's Playboy-sponsored DTM go go fast racing car.
The DTM is bascially Audi and Mercedes going at it for German Touring supremacy. It is rumored that BMW will enter in 2012.
A small clip of Timo's Audio getting run down by a Mercedes:
