In Memorium: Peter Yates 1928-2011
Peter Yates, director of the 1968 film Bullitt, died on Janauary 9th, 2011. The film, as any car or movie buff knows, contains one of the greatest car chases ever. One of the participants being a black 1968 440 CID/390 bhp Dodge Charger. Check out wikipedia for in-depth info on the film, the chase, and the cars involved. Mr. Yates great talents extended to films such as The Deep, Breaking Away, Eyewitness, and others. Along with Bullitt, a personal thanks goes out from me to Mr. Yates for Mother, Jugs, and Speed ;) If you have yet to experience Bullitt, I don't envy your first-time excitement over the car chase-I feel it every time I watch it.

Shouldnt you envy the first time excitement? Anyways, I heard the guy could be a real prima donna
ReplyDeleteI don't envy something because I feel it every time I watch it therefore I can't envy something I have? I dunno. Just can't see that movie enough. And who was the prima, Yates?
